Monday March 6 2017 CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE

Monday March 6 2017  CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE

Despite the fact that March designates for me that Christmas is right around the corner, I waved the truce flag of leaving our tree up until then.  As of Saturday it is boxed away and stowed in the closet.  I neither gave it to my son, who didn’t want it, nor did I sell it.  Once I had it up I remembered all the reasons I purchased it in the first place.  To me it is beautiful, but not to everyone. I enjoy it and have no need to try to please the world.

There was only one reason I put it away.  We decided to have our lower level carpet cleaned and decided to have upstairs rooms cleaned as well.  Most of our floor space upstairs is tile but since the tree was not vacationing on the tile I decided having a clean carpet was more important to me than having the tree gather dust.  My decision was not premeditated.  I spontaneously knew it was the day to do it.  As I was leaving the house I asked Dave to retrieve the boxes from their hiding place and I would dismantle the tree when I returned home from exercising.  And so I did.  The best part was that I didn’t have to look forward to the day.  The right day just arrived and I used it to do the job.  It took me two hours.

Winter snow graced this week

In puffy white, like cotton balls.

So soon spring will come alive

And then comes summer and fall.

Two hours of time is all it took

For me to tuck away.

All the falderal of Christmas past

Now in the closet to stay.

I suppose each and every season

Should have its time to shine.

And perhaps by next winter

A Christmas tree will again be fine.

Thank You God that a job is behind me and I didn’t even have to dread doing it.

Thank You God for the delicious salad I ate for breakfast.

Thank You God for all the people in the world who work at so many different jobs so that what is needed is available.

Thank You God that there are still kind people in the world.

Thank You too for plumbers, and heat repairmen.

Thank You that I have a bed to sleep in.

HAVE A GREAT DAY.  GOD BLESS YOU.
