Friday March 3 2017  THE END OF THE WEEK

 

A BUSY WEEK

Some days go quite fast.

In busy bustle they do not last.

Yet, the week interminably long

When it seems things go wrong.

 

Thankfully, all becomes right,

Work and money corrects the plight.

The heater breaks because it’s old

And of course the days are cold.

 

And life happens between the mess,

Yet I’m full of joy I must confess.

I have a house in which to live,

Though it gobbles money like a sieve.

 

And thus today the painter comes

To patch and paint the ceiling some.

Entire mess in every room

But we have hopes that very soon

 

Finally our library will be done.

And days of work will turn to fun.

Our disarray will soon be past

When our room is finished at last!

 

Still much to do, much sorrow to face

Because I will never have enough space

For all the books which are my friends,

Alas, their time with me will end.

 

I’ll pass them on without stealth

Giving to others part of my wealth.

So much pleasure and knowledge found

When we open a book that is bound.

 

There is something special feeling the pages,

As history speaks throughout the ages.

And such comfort in the written word

Where voices of the past can be heard.

 

All these thoughts go through my head

As another thought to me is fed.

No matter how difficult the week may start

The joy in my heart never departs!

 

Thank You God for opening the door to allow the painter time to come today.

Thank You God that my circumstances cannot rob me of joy that comes from You.

Thank You Lord for this amazing week.

Thank You for the heat we have today especially since the temperature outside is 15 degrees at present.

Thank You God that You are an awesome God.
