Words of Wisdom

Words of wisdom, sage advice, whether asked for or not, we all have something to say.  Well, I am asking.  As I travel around I am asking those I am staying with or meeting on this journey to offer one piece of advice they would like to give on how to live a better more fulfilling life.  What is the one thing that you would say if asked?  What wisdom has helped you the most?

AND WHAT IS WISDOM EXACTLY?

My favorite definition is that wisdom is what we do with all the experience and knowledge we have accrued in life.  What has life taught you and how can you use your experience and knowledge in any given circumstance to best enhance your life and those around you.  The scripture says to seek wisdom and ask for wisdom and to find knowledge.  If we seek wisdom we will find it.  When we search for knowledge we will attain it.  And the thing I notice is that wisdom is pertinent to what is needed at a particular time.  What is best for my life may not be the best for yours.  What is best in one situation may differ in another situation. Wisdom is  personal to each of us and it is given by God.  Seek that your find.

Proverbs Chapter 2: 1-11

My son, if you accept my words
    and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
    and applying your heart to understanding—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
    and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
    and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
    and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
    from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He holds success in store for the upright,
    he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just
    and protects the way of his faithful ones.

9 Then you will understand what is right and just
    and fair—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
    and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you,
    and understanding will guard you.
