TRUTH YOU WILL RECEIVE

A Sabbath Day

Once again,

A time of introspection

To search within.

The road is broad

That leads to death,

We must guard our heart

Until our last breath.

And the way of life

Is easy to miss

So Know God’s word,

Don’t take a risk.

There are ways 

That seem right,

When not God’s truth

A  dangerous plight.

Good things often lead away

Causing you to be deceived.

Trust only in God’s Holy Word

And truth you will receive.

I received the inspiration for the above poem from Scripture references I wrote in my journal from this morning’s sermon.

Proverbs 4:23 NLT

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Proverbs 14:12 NLT

There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.

Matthew 7:13-14 NLT

 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. ¹⁴ But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.

II Timothy 3:16 NLT

¹⁶ All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

Thank You God for the excellent sermon I heard this morning.

Thank You God for constantly giving me new insights to Your Holy Word.

Thank You God for a slow and laid back day.

Thank You God that You renew my strength daily.
