MY PRAYER TONIGHT IS…

Lord, this old brain is sleepy and tired

I pray for kindling to be refired.

And then my eyes behold a scene

And my senses once again are keen.

Dancing before me above the grass,

A spectacle of beauty that will not last.

Glistening diamonds in arcs of love

Calling to their lovers below and above.

Summer’s magic creates dazzling art

As fireflies in beauty part.

Calling their mate with sparkling light

Against the darkening of the night.

And mesmerized I watch the display

Proving that nature likes to play!

My spirit is lifted, my thoughts rearrange

But the sleepy part has not changed.

Thank You God for the beautiful gift of dancing fireflies.

Thank You God for filling my heart with joy.

Thank You Father for another lovely day.
