Thursday May 11, 2017 WHEW! STAY-CATION WEEK IS ALMOST OVER!

Thursday May 11, 2017  WHEW! STAY-CATION WEEK IS ALMOST OVER!

This has been a week of learning.  To all who are retired I recommend that you set aside a week for a STAY-CATION.  I received much pleasure by working in our gardens, watched an entire movie, cooked sparingly, swept the kitchen floor (because I WANTED to), organized the new library area, and spent a lot of time thinking.  The most profitable result of the week, besides spending quality time with Dave, is what I have discovered about myself.  I look forward to writing a blog about the insights I’ve received this week.  I would love to share that information now but time is short tonight and Dave and I must be up early in the morning.  Yes, we couldn’t quite keep all interlopers at bay.  When all is said and done I think I will be making a few life changing decisions for myself in the near future.  More about that later!

I’VE DISCOVERED SOME THINGS

To be who I am is an okay thing

But I must refrain from the mundane.

It’s nice to enjoy my own company

But in far reaching range I must change.

A light bulb moment has arrived

And I learned a bit when the light was lit!

There are areas where I need to improve

As my thoughts wonder, new thoughts I ponder.

I’ve discovered I am a hard taskmaster.

I must do my best to learn how to rest.

I don’t have to be “doing” all of the time,

I must reset my drive to stay alive!

All because of a week without pressure!

During my stay-cation week I decided to peek

At what life would be like if I lived it slow,

And I’ve discovered the face I want in place.

Thank You God for this calming and quiet week.

Thank You God for the delicious “farm to the table” food I received today.*

GOD BLESS YOU!
