I SET THE PACE FOR MY RACE
Kathleen Martens
April 6, 2017
Hmm…what to write
Seems my plight
Rushed morning time
Not quite prime.
I must think
Before I sink
All hours booked
All minutes hooked.
My timer set
Lest I forget
That I must go
Combat my foe.
And what I see
My foe is me.
I set the pace
For my race.
Penchant to ram
What I can.
So other days
At home I stay.
It is a busy day ahead. Regardless of how rushed my poem makes it sound, I do enjoy going and doing what I schedule. It just seems when it rains it pours. And what makes my day so crowded is that often times I squeeze other stops in because I am in the vicinity of where I need to pick something up or drop something off.
And so it is today. Dave reminded me of another item I need to buy before we can get our shelves situated in their permanent locations. The shelves are not easy to move and we must have the correct electrical plugs with the right cord lengths fed through the back of the shelves before they are flush to the wall.
So, I am off and running. Dave has been ill the last few days with a digestive tract flue. Once he was emptied out he has been housebound due to weakness and fatigue. He is better after almost 12 hours in bed last night. He slept soundly all night. I have not wanted to be too far out of earshot for him. He feels confident he is on the mend and he actually ate a little food this morning. We’ll see how that goes. He must be attentive to his blood sugars.
Thank You God for bodies that heal.
Thank You for Your provision.
Thank You for my husband.
Thank You for Your perfect peace
GOD BLESS YOUR DAY!
