Lord, I come to be with You

In quiet morning, heart subdued.

Amidst peaceful whispers of predawn sounds

My spirit in solitude – Your presence found.

Thank You Lord for Your amazing grace

That whenever I come You lovingly embrace.

Thank You for accepting me just as I am,

Thank You for the plan of Your sacrificial lamb.

No matter what I do, You gently pick me up,

Set Your table before me and together we sup.

Your Word is my sustenance, Your joy my delight,

And in my darkest hour You are my guiding light.

Fill me now with Your loving presence

So wherever I go others experience Your essence.

Words are inadequate to describe who You are,

The God of the universe, Creator of moon, sun, and stars.

And yet You say, “Come”, even when I’m not at my best.

You offer me peace and sweet quiet rest.

You are so gentle and humble in heart,

And Your peaceful rest shall never depart.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest, Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
