Wednesday February 1 2017  “THERE’S A SWEET, SWEET SPIRIT IN THIS PLACE”

“THERE’S A SWEET, SWEET SPIRIT IN THIS PLACE.” Title and words from a song I first heard sung by a friend of mine as we were riding in a car.  She and her husband were in the back seat and Dave and I were up front.  Our friend was a singer and this song was written by a song writer especially for her to sing and record.  Since that time I have sung and heard this song in many different churches we have attended.  The words are beautiful.

This morning Lana and I were in prayer time and the song came to mind.  It overwhelmed me by the loving words it encapsulated as we sang it together.  We could feel the presence of the Lord in our midst.  God is so good.  He really is with us wherever we are, whatever we’re doing.  When the Lord dwells in our hearts I truly believe it changes the atmosphere of our homes.  I can detect the presence and calm assurance that the Lord lives here at Lana and Tim’s home.  I hope that is what visitors feel when they are guests in our home.  It makes for a joy filled home, regardless the circumstances.

Lana has been a light and testimony to so many around her as she has come in contact with those working with her during the past 6 years battling cancer.  God has opened many doors to enable her to share His love with others as well as praying with, and for them.  Here she is the one that has been so sick and she is the one to reach out and bless others.  That is how it is at present.  I’m here to minister to her and the presence of the Lord in this place and in her life is ministering to me.  How blessed I am.

At times we may never understand or realize the reason our lives take the journey they do, but God has a plan and a mission for each of us.  Regardless the circumstances He can use us for His glory.  Lana is a living testament to that.

LIVING LIFE TODAY

Living life today is all we really have.

Yesterday is long gone,

Tomorrow not yet come.

Go today where God will lead

Because He has a plan.

For each woman; for each man.

Through circumstances that we live,

God is always there

All because He cares.

So when the day is rough and weary,

Look for joy from above,

Knowing it’s delivered by love.

And then it will be much easier

And as we walk that difficult mile,

In our hears and on our face will be a loving smile.

Thank You God for such a wonderful time of prayer for our families.

Thank You Lord that wherever we are You are in our midst.

Thank You also for opening our hearts and minds to hear Your voice.

Thank You for being with us through all circumstances.

Lana came across a quote from the internet.  There was no reference as to who had written the words but I thought them worth repeating.  Hmmm…let’s see if you think so.

“Yes, I’m short.  God only lets things grow until they are perfect.  Some of us didn’t take as long as others.”

So, if you are on the short side you can claim it as your mantra also.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!  GOD BLESS YOU!
