A KISS FROM THE HEAVENS

What my eyes see none can tell,

Snow in furrows ridges quell.

Beautiful white in angles of elegance,

Designed exclusively by the Creator’s intelligence.

A simple scene as I drive home

Becomes art, all of God’s own.

Planned in detail for my eyes to see

And I truly believe, intended just for me.

No other eye to behold the glory

Of morning’s portrait to tell this story.

All alone on the long road home

Exquisite beauty as my eyes roamed.

Fields and fences, trees and hills,

With such beauty my eyes were filled.

Low clouds huddled above the blue

Opening light in gentle hue.

Breathtaking beauty in a moment of time,

No one else around, so it was all mine.

A gift from God to delight my heart.

A kiss from the heavens my day to start.

The above poem was inspired by my drive home this morning from the gym.  The gym is four miles away.  I drive two miles on a two lane country road, make a right turn, and drive two more miles on a straight highway to get there.  The roads are surrounded by fields long harvested.  Hilly wooded areas pepper the flat landscape.  Beautiful huge oaks stand solitary in the middle of many of the croplands.  The rows are furrowed and there was just enough snow last night and this morning to fill the furrows in graceful patterns of white, creating a lacy affect.  It was so astoundingly beautiful.  I wish I could have pulled over on the two lane country road (called a highway) to gawk.  No cars were before me and no cars were behind me.  I didn’t pull over because there are no shoulder areas to do so, but I did drive quite slowly.  I did not pass any cars even coming my way.   I turned the heater off and experienced a silent world in a state of wonder.  And like my poem stated “What my eyes see none can tell”.  Moments like these are truly gifts to me.  Here in Wisconsin outdoor decorations of nature’s enhancements change by the moment.  It was truly awesome to see and experience such fleeting splendor.

Thank You God for all the good gifts You give to me daily.

Thank You God that I take time to recognize the gifts You give.

Again, thank You for my vision that I can still see.
