ANGELS IN OUR WORLD

I looked up the word “angel” in the Word,
Over and over their voices are heard.
The angels ask questions, answer, and speak,
Follow directions, attend and seek.
A little lower than the angel man was made,
Yet men are crowned with honor and glory.
They were given rule over all God’s creation,
And everything was made for man’s elation.
But through disobedience sin entered in.
God lost His relationship with His closest friend.
And through the years angels were used,
God spoke through angels without ruse.
It has been recorded angels shout for joy,
Ten thousands times ten thousands God employs.
God commands His angels concerning you
To guard your ways to help you through.
We are lifted up in angel hands
All because God so demands.
Through His great love God rescues
And lovingly protects as His angels ensue.
And it was the angels that proclaimed the birth
Of God’s son, who is of great worth,
Though subjected to a position under the angels
And delivered in a stable and laid in a manger.
So many angels which God does beckon,
All with purpose for which to reckon.
Angels to question, answer, and do,
They appeared and attended all on cue.
They announced Jesus’ arrival and rolled back the grave stone,
And the glory of the Lord on angels shone.
Angels respond when God calls them by name
And fulfills His bidding without need of fame.
And sometimes I wonder if during this season
The angels are amongst us in numerous legions
Singing “WORTHY IS THE LAMB WHO WAS SLAIN”;
Because Jesus was born man can live again!
And they sing of His wealth, they sing of His power,
And His wisdom and strength, being our strong tower.
And they sing of his honor, glory, and praise,
That His story will be told throughout all days.
Following are scripture references I used to write this poem. I hope you enjoy reading these scriptures. All are quoted from the New International Version of the Bible
Psalm 91:11
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
Hebrews 2
Warning to Pay Attention
2 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
Jesus Made Fully Human
5 It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. 6 But there is a place where someone has testified:
“What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
a son of man that you care for him?
7 You made them a little lower than the angels;
you crowned them with glory and honor
8 and put everything under their feet.”
In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them. 9 But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. 11 Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. 12 He says,
“I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters;
in the assembly I will sing your praises.”
13 And again,
“I will put my trust in him.”
And again he says,
“Here am I, and the children God has given me.”
14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. 17 For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous.
For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully;
In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Concluding Exhortations:
Hebrews 13:1-2
13 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
Revelation 5:10-12
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”
11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”
