BECAUSE OF THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB

How would it be

If Christmas had never been?

If the Savior had not been born

To free man from sin?

What would it be like

To live in the world we know

Without the presence of Jesus

Or the resurrection glow?

Oh to think of the chaos,

Sin multiplied and squared.

Would life be worth living

If there was no God who cared?

But so amazing is God’s love

That He sacrificed His only Son

That we have choice of new life,

Because over death Jesus has won.

A silent birth, a starlit night

In peace as well as scandal.

The virgin birth of an unwed teen

Could have been hard to handle.

But through Angels the story given

To shepherds and Joseph and Mary.

And the Holy Spirit’s seed was born

As there was no need to tarry.

And on that night so long ago

Was the fulfillment of God’s plan

That sin would be reconciled

Because Jesus was born a man.

I never ever want to know

How it would be if Jesus had not come.

I now have hope, peace, and joy,

Because of the sacrificial lamb.
