ENJOY THIS PRECIOUS SEASON

Nine days ‘til Christmas

And the hours won’t slow down.

Seems I’m running here and there

All around the town.

 

To the gym to exercise,

Then to Aldi’s to buy food.

And then of course to Costco,

Rotisserie chickens seem to woo.

 

And then to the library

To pick up books to read

Which I rarely have time to do

Except the audio ones I heed.

 

Everyday my hours race

And a new goal I must tap,

Today it was all the gifts

Which needed to be wrapped.

 

And the task is now done

Tucked away in secret places.

With intent out of view

That they not use up my spaces.

 

The tree decked out in its finery.

No gifts sit under the tree

Because we’ll have 50 little fingers

That will be here Sunday at three.

 

So much to do between now and then

When other company will also come,

Five little boys will be the kid total

And I hope they have lots of fun.

 

I am now set with all I need.

No more roaming around.

The snow is falling, the roads are slick,

I’ll be at home instead of downtown.

 

Now it is time for me to value

And enjoy this precious season.

Is a time to realize and appreciate

That Jesus is the reason.

 

And so the hours now are slowing,

My greatest pleasure is to write

My daily poem to celebrate Christmas,

That my words would share God’s light.

 

SO MERRY CHRISTMAS DEAR FRIENDS,

May your hours slow down too.

That you may reflect on this season

When Jesus was born for you.
