UNDERSTANDING THE REASON

A silent thought

Lies deep inside

In that quiet place

My soul abides.

Wondrous thoughts

Only mine

Of peace and hope

So sublime.

Regardless what

Task at hand

A day of rest

Mine to command.

Being busy

All alone

Quiet solitude

Is my own.

And my reflections

In quiet work

No clock to watch

Time doesn’t flirt.

Past and present

Meld as one

And future worry

I have none.

My eternity

Forever secure

Jesus was born

And my salvation is sure.

I bow my head

In sweetest pleasure

Understanding the reason

God sacrificed His Treasure.

And I’m reminded

Of reality’s cross

When I think of Jesus

In the manger box.
