THE GIFT

What lies ahead

Is always unknown.

In dawn’s early light

Day is unknown.

 

The minutes and hours

Unfold one by one.

There could be tragedy

Or there may be fun.

 

There could be sorrow

That happens by chance

We may be defeated

Or firm in our stance.

 

What we see with our eyes

May not be the same

As seen from another

With a different name.

 

Our parallax is unique

From all others around.

What you see as easy

To another may confound.

 

What we hear in our heart

Depends on how we are strung.

We may answer with joy

Or like a song unsung.

 

Things will happen

And some are not good.

But the outlook can be different

When it is understood.

 

It’s not what happens

But rather what you perceive

And it’s how you take it

That helps you receive.

 

So no matter the dilemma

You find yourself facing,

Give your spirit a gift

Without all the pacing.

 

Relax in the presence

Of The Sovereign God over all,

And when in a predicament

On God’s name simply call.

 

We will never know

What any day will bring.

Dedicate each day to God

And truth will ring.

 

Do not allow life

To set you adrift.

But give God thanks for each day

BECAUSE EACH DAY IS A GIFT!
