Friday April 29 2016 DEAR ELDERS, I’M SORRY
Interesting title to say the least, but I thought it worth repeating. Dave asked me to listen to a message on U-Tube with this title. And I am going to pass on that suggestion. The web address is too complex so just google “Dear Elders, I’m Sorry, U-Tube” and it should come up. Several come up. This one was the first on the list when I googled it. The speaker is a young woman with blond hair, sitting behind the wheel of a car. If you listen I think you will be amazed at what she says.
Now the question regarding this blog is if I can write it by the time Dave gets out of the shower. I just arrived home from a doctor’s appointment and he just arrived home from the gym. We have an exceptionally busy day ahead and the only blog I will be able to write is in these few moments. Tonight, our night out ends later than usual and I know I will need to get to bed.
It looks like everything shows fine with the mammogram I had today. There was some suspicious areas of concern so they scheduled an ultra sound immediately following the mammogram. The ultra sound showed nothing suspicious so I received a good report. If you know my history you will know that this is good news.
Today I am still basking in my great accomplishments over the past two days (remember the freezers). I feel liberated from that job for another year. Now Dave and I have the freedom to go and gather all that is needed to sustain our household for the next couple of weeks. In order to save money and not have food products expire, we choose to shop more often for exactly what is needed, instead of stocking ahead. It is actually more fun that way because I then tend to cook up all the food I buy as I have all the spices and ingredients I need for that specific recipe. I discovered a lot of new recipes today as I was waiting and perusing a magazine. I took a few pictures of the recipes I wanted to try. If they turn out great I’ll let you know.
I just heard the shower water go off. Must hurry!
I REALLY DO LIKE THIS RETIREMENT THING

April 29, 2016
This poem is just a hello
As well as a quick good-bye.
Today is gone before it’s begun
So quickly away I must fly.
All is well on the home front.
My mind is full and spinning.
My list is long of places to go
So thus my early beginning.
Here and there and everywhere
To get all the little things done.
But when we do it together
It is always a lot of fun.
I really do like this retirement thing
Of planning my day as I choose.
So I try to plan my time wisely
For I no longer have an excuse…
…Not to finish what I begin
For each day is at my heeding.
I can plan according to what must be done
And spend the rest of my time just reading.
Lord, thank You for the time I have every day to live life.
Thank You that my mammogram had good results.
Thank You for books.
Thank You than I can read.
Thank You for the love you put in my heart.
Thank You for the lovely spring we are having.
Thank You for yesterday’s rain.
Thank You for paper.
Thank You for a bathroom that is all put back together.
Thank You for wash cloths.
HAVE A GREAT DAY! AND GOD BLESS YOU.
