My Private Heaven
My Private Heaven

The thoughts on which I dwell,
My private heaven or my private hell.
What I think – so become I,
Succumb to the pit – or soar and fly.
It all depends who lives within;
The God of salvation or demons of sin.
We have choice – to become who we desire to be.
As for me –I choose to be free,
Free from the torment of anger and hate
Or earthly pleasures that never sate.
In bondage to self – from lies told,
Bartering with evil – my soul sold.
Rather, I think on God’s goodness and love
Whose own Son sacrificed His Blood.
To cleanse my soul, giving freedom of thought,
And by His love, my redemption bought.
And now my heart empty of bitterness and rage,
And anger no longer keeps me caged,
Because, now I think on what’s noble and right,
What is pure and lovely as God’s beautiful light.
What is excellent – is thought about too,
And all that is praiseworthy becomes so true.
And I have become what I think and believe.
My private heaven is what I receive.
